The main intention of the Community Learning Center is to offer the community members, youths and specificallyy for the children having opportunity to develop their English language communication skills. This gives the children a special benefit of positive way of spending their time rather than spending over time in playing and doing unnecessary activities in the villages. FUN-Nepal’s Learning Centers offers English language instruction and cultural interaction program between volunteers and community children. The main motto of this activities are that improved language skills and making habit of positive learning attitude among the children which lead them to good citizen in long term. Volunteers typically spend two to three months in a language program which is offered to the Nepali community year-round. The maximum class-size may be 8 to 10 students. Volunteers will teach classes from 6 am until 10 am and from 4 pm until 6 pm, Sunday to Friday. Dynamic nature, positive attitude, and qualified volunteers with previous teaching experience are preferred. However, the fresh and new learning attitude volunteers are also provided opportunities to perform their talent. First of all, the introduction program is held among the learner and instructors prior to teaching at the Learning Center for making family atmosphere. After that volunteers will receive one week of Nepali language and cultural training for adjusting with Nepali community. To further ease volunteers into Nepali life and their placement they will stay with a local Nepali family located within a half-hour from the center and there will be FUN-Nepal coordinator to help with any queries or requirements.
